| well now, arent you sitting pretty.
i am definitely liking my new home, many things to do in this part of
town. i like going to the plaza, its fun to watch the A&F
clones stare at me, while their eyes shout, "look at that afro wearing
freak", wearing the same t-shirt three days in a row, going to the same
restaurant two days in a row, and ....loving brian, one day in a
roe. oh thats just bad comedy.
we have lost our drummer, though it was us kicking him out this
time. it was pretty crazy how it ended, but im done remembering
that situation. but we may have found a new guy, and i really
like the new guy. and it would be cool to be in a band with a grandpa,
which he is. i played with him once, and was completely
impressed, as i should be, the guys been playing for 30+ years.
and after six months of intent listening, i am completely in love with a band. everything about these guys, lyrics, music, art, attitude, i can totally get on board with.
and i saw the new superman, and i really enjoyed it, though i always
thought superman was the wuss of all the superheroes. i mean the
guy cant even feel pain, of course he can beat criminals. but
batman, spiderman, x-men, those guys take beatings. and when
superman does feel pain, kryptonite, hes powerless and has to depend on
others.

lady "well...I...uhhhhhh.....the thing is.......ummmmm......

| so the kids take the map test today, and i get evaluated. its nice though, since these tests mean nothing to the students, but im sure theyll take it seriously. because kids want to make their teachers proud, right? oh well. ill just give em one good, "lets do this one for the gipper!" speech.
and whats with the phrase, ive got my ducks in a row. how is that a good thing. i was thinking of this the other day when i saw some ducks. if they are in a row, they are united and strong, and you have to wait on them to do what they want. i realize that we are saying, "my" ducks, but ducks cant be controlled, they are the strong man of the winged animal world, they dont lay down, like pigeons. i think the more apt line, would go something like, "my ducks are sprawled out all over the place" or "my ducks are so seperated their like the french army."
and i didnt mean to or realize i did it until i got to school, but i totally stole a sausage roll at the menninite bakery this morning, dang mennenites, they had it coming.
| last night was great times. it was the best ive ever played live, it was nice to actually feel good about playing instead of self-conscious and depressed. this continues the trend of things going pretty well for me lately. things are afoot at the special k as my friend keanu would say.
you know whats sad, the cookie monster. when you think about it, his only goal in life is to find and eat cookies, as many as possible. you got to wonder if he ever dreams of a life filled with love won and lost. and you also have to question his choice about his passion. i could understand someone letting one thing consume their life if it was trying to free a people, or save someone or prevent murder or rape. but its like snacks are his religion. its sad, looking for cookies is all he knows.
| so the buzz was right about this band, at least for me. i didnt
think so at first, but i havent been able to get their bass lines and
lyrics out of my head.
i finally saw apocolypse now, and it was pretty intense. almost
as intense as the time my penguin, dr. chainsaw and i slayed the evil
shark, but ive said too much.
